ummer is here and there is nothing better than the spirit it brings. It understandable to see why dating seems to be so much more enjoyable in the warmer months. The days are longer, the air is warmer and everyone just seems to be in a better mood. Whether you are just starting to date again or perhaps have been seeing someone for quite some time, here are 8 great date ideas for Summer:
1: Head to the beach for a twilight picnic
The combination of food, romance and a beach is always a good idea. However, in the intense heat of the day you risk, sunburn and lots of crowds and will most likely be sweating like crazy. Probably not the most romantic setting, so why not wait till it cools down a little and grab a rug, a bottle of wine and some nibbles and watch the sunset on the sand.
2: Watch the movies outside
Whether it’s a homemade theatre with a white sheet and projector, or you buy tickets to an outdoor cinema, watching a movie under the stars is a perfect idea. It takes seeing a film to a whole new experience and let’s not forget it also gives you a chance to get cosy with one another. Plus, if it’s a beautiful night, falling asleep under the stars does sound awfully romantic, just make sure you pack the areoguard!
3: Meet up for Dessert
Sometimes dinner dates are just a little too formal. Why not skip the first two courses and just head out for some ice cream and cake? It makes your date a little more relaxed but still fun. It’s also a great idea if you have busy schedules and limited time to catch up.
4: Have a camp out
Even if you aren’t someone who doesn’t enjoy roughing it, you can camp out in your own back yard. It shakes up the routine a bit and offers new challenges like lighting a fire, putting up a tent and telling stories. It’s fun, requires a little spirit of adventure and will no doubt bring some bonding.
5: Get active
Summer is the perfect time to be outdoors. Why not try a roller blading or cycling session? Or check out your local bush tracks and go for a hike? Dates don’t have to be all about eating and staying indoors, try something different that challenges you both physically.
6: Go Stargazing
Is there anything more romantic than looking up at the stars together on a clear night? Why not take a mini trip to a well-known place for this activity? Pack a picnic and blanket and get set up for a night.
7: Visit a theme park
Contrary to belief, you don’t have to have kids or be a kid to visit a theme park. They are a fun and casual way to have an awesome date. Most of the time they involve water as well which is perfect for those hot summer days. Make a day of it, pack a lunch and your towels and have a ball!
8: Take a swim
It’s amazing just how many great swimming spots there are around besides the local beaches. Why not have a bucket list and make it your mission to see each one. Either that or head to a swanky hotel or bar that has a pool and cocktails?!
Dating should always be fun, so let this summer be one to remember.
