1:There’s Always Room For More Water

We all need to be drinking more water. Even if you’re already drinking lots, there’s a really good chance you’re still not drinking enough. The traditional rule has been to drink eight glasses of water each day, but it’s now being recommended to drink water based on your weight.

According to this sliding scale, you should be aiming to drink between half an ounce to a full ounce of water for each pound you weigh. No longer are doctors recommending the standard 8 glasses a day.

Now, it all depends on an individual’s size. For someone weighting 150lbs, a goal of drinking between 75-150 ounces of water per day should be sought. Upping your water intake will help flush toxins from your body, boost your energy and keep your body and skin hydrated.

 

2:Fill Your Plate with Plants

You should have a goal of filling at least half of your plate at each meal with fruits or vegetables. Meats and other animal-based proteins should be kept to a minimum. When you fill up on these vitamin and nutrient-rich foods, you’ll help control overeating less healthy options. The vitamins within these foods help can also keep your skin smooth and healthy looking.

 

3:Get a Good Workout In

Although you don’t have to participate in vigorous, tough workouts, it’s important to get some daily physical activity in daily. The minimum aim should be 30 minutes of moderate to high intensity activity each day. If you’ve got a full daily schedule and find it hard to add in any physical activity, you can incorporate this into your daily routine, such as going for a daily walk during your lunch hour.

Summer and BBQ’s are synonymous with each other. We all enjoy spending time outdoors, while throwing a few steaks or burgers on the grill. But, studies have shown that meat that’s overcooked or burned can create compounds known as carcinogens. These put you at a higher risk for different types of cancers.

But, there’s a simple solution, which is that adding lemon juice to meat being cooked on a grill can help prevent the formation of these compounds.

 

6:Keep Your Teeth Tip-Top

Your oral health can play a significant role in your overall health. It’s important to brush twice daily and floss everyday to maintain a healthy mouth. You’ll keep your teeth safe from developing cavities and keep your breath smelling great.

But even more important to your overall health is preventing gum disease, where bacteria can enter your bloodstream, impacting your physical health and have a serious effect on your heart.

 

7:Spend Time With People You Like

 

One of the best ways to be happy and healthy is to spend time with people you actually like. This is very good for your mental health. You can talk with them about your problems and share your feelings.

This can make a big difference in your life because poor mental health, stress buildup and so on can damage your physical health as well. So, spend some time with people you like and you trust and you will see that your mood will instantly improve and you will feel much better.

 

8:Ignore People That Drain Your Energy

Just like there are some people that make you feel amazing and improve your health in general, there are also people that will drain your energy and make you feel bad. You should stay away from these people because they can add on extra stress and make your mood worse. This translates to poor physical health too and general bad feelings. Just stay away from these people and kick them out of your life.

 

Living a healthy and vibrant life means you’ll have to pay attention to the choices you’re making and the lifestyle you’re leading. Practicing healthy habits can help you look and feel younger and healthier for many years. And, the better you feel, the more you’re going to want to continue practicing these habits.
