Need to get away?
When you’re in a relationship, it’s important for you and your partner to make time to create new experiences and step away from the busyness of your day-to-day lives. A wonderful way to do that is to go on vacations.
Here are some ideas for when you and your partner should vacation together.
Over the summer
One of the most popular times to plan vacations is in the summer – and with good reason! With the seasonality of many teaching and education-focused jobs, summer is prime time for vacation, since many employees already have these months off.
Hotels, airlines, and travel tour websites realize this, and while it may result in some increased prices since the demand for travel in the summer is high, it might also result in the availability of special summer travel packages that you can take advantage of.
For example, companies like Go Ahead Tour put together robust travel packages that take all the stress and headache away from planning your next vacation, since they do all the work for you!
Travel packages like these are one of the best ways to see many cities or countries (like a tour of Italy or Northern Europe) in one all-inclusive vacation package.
Over New Years
Another great time to vacation with your partner is in the dead space between Christmas and New Years, and even over the New Years holiday. By vacationing during this time, not only will you be able to avoid the stress of “what should be doing for New Years this year?” you’ll also be able to take advantage of very reasonably priced flight and lodging costs!
Since this time of year is in between major holidays, there are lots of savings to be had. Plus, what better way to start the New Year than on an adventure in a new city or country? It certainly will set the bar high for the year ahead!
In the “off” season
If you’re really looking to save some money, but still plan an unforgettable vacation with your significant other, then you should consider traveling in the “off” season. The off season will vary from destination to destination, but generally, you will be able to save money on travel costs by planning a trip during the winter months (non-holiday times), or on the fringe of popular seasons – like right before summer, or right as fall ends.
In Europe specifically, summer and winter are the busiest travel seasons, so you are better off traveling in spring or fall. These are referred to as “shoulder seasons,” and there are two of them specifically, according to AirHelp: September to November and Easter to early June.
Here you’ll find a combination of good deals and warm weather. If you opt to travel in the shoulder or offseasons, then you’ll be able to save money, but also avoid crowds and better enjoy popular tourist destinations.
But, be sure to do research surrounding the specific destination you wish to travel to, as offseasons vary by location (for example, Australia’s seasons are the opposite of the United States, so winter in the U.S. is actually summer in Australia!)
Over the weekend
Vacations have a connotation of being a week-long escape to somewhere exotic, but that doesn’t have to be the case! For you and your partner, a vacation can easily be a weekend away, or even a “staycation.” Both of these options are much more budget-friendly, especially since you don’t have to pay for airfare. In fact, all you need for a weekend away is a car, and a close-by destination (and with all the finance optionsavailable today, having a car of your own is more achievable than ever before).
And the best part about vacationing over the weekend is it doesn’t matter when you do it – you can fit in a weekend vacation almost any time of year!
When it comes to planning a vacation together for you and your partner, the reality is there’s no bad time to do it. But if you use the guidelines above, you’re bound to save a little money and create a special experience you’ll both remember for the rest of your lives.
